Today I had a chance to share with my colleagues in my PD session. We were to bring in a lesson that met one of Danielson Framework for Teaching standards. I chose component 3d: Using assessment in instruction. I showed how I use clickers and exit passes for assessment. I decided use Danielson standard as content rather than science to engage teachers. First I had teachers take pretest using clickers to make sure they know we are evaluated on components 2b: Classroom culture; 2d: Managing student behavior; 3b: Questions & Discussions; 3c: Engaging in Learning; and 3d: Using Assessment in instruction. Second, with partners I had them categorize possible short scripts from an observation in pairs. Finally, answers were given then exit pass questions were shared.
I felt ok about the sharing. I was glad to share because some people were interested in using the clickers. In addition, I was able to learn more about the different components as I was sharing. However, I felt so rushed for time because we had to finish sharing of everyone's lessons in two day period. I think we needed more time than that.

Hey Amy, although you felt you had to rush your clicker presentation to afford all teachers the opportunity to share, your lesson was great, and very well received by attending teachers. Thanks for sharing! :-)
