Biosafety Training - Dec 14, 2011

Biosafety Training was held at King Kekaulike High School on Wednesday, December 14th from 2:00-3:00pm in I-102. The training was run by Hubert Olipares from UH Manoa who works in Biosafety and Animal Welfare, Biosafety and Compliance. The session was not only informative but insightful.  Hubert really knew his material and made me think about getting together a SOP (standard operating procedure) binder and an inspection chart (or tags) for eye wash and other equipment like autoclave.

After trained by Hubert, Agricultural Inspectors on Maui are able to give the permits needed for the live materials for classes like AP Biology and Biotechnology.  Thanks Sadie Mossman, DH at KKHS for setting up the workshop.

In addition, I am planning to go through Flinn safety training online some time next year 2012.
