SADD Club Advisorship Change

After two years of advisorship, I found an excellent advisor to take over SADD club.  Originally Helen Tavares who was the advisor for years retired and asked me to advise.  She knew I was an advisor for Leo club at Kekaulike High School for many years.

I took the position because many of the students who were in the club knew me and asked me to continue on.  However, running science olympiad team and being an advisor for SADD club at the same time was a bit too much.  I felt very much spread thin.  Last year, we were searching for a co-advisor for this very reason.  We found her, Roxana Hollifield.  This year  Mrs. Hollifield came on board as a co-advisor.  I was very happy.  In the beginning, I did most of the club activity but I was able to slowly let Roxana do more than eventually when she had enough confidence, I asked if she can advise the club next year.  She said yes.  It was a relief for me because I can serve my science olympiad students better this way.  The SADD club members that had my class and knew me will be graduating this year.  Most of the students in the club are already very much familiar with Mrs. Hollifield and will adjust fine.

Next year, I would like to work on my teacher leadership role.  I would like to offer science workshops and work with colleagues to enhance curriculum.  I had a lot of fun with SADD club though.  I will always treasure those activities and moments I shared with other teachers and students.
