  • Exam tips
    • make copy from AP workshop today and share with students before next exam
    • have them watch Bozeman Video to know the command words (especially Predict/Justify)

  • Go over SEM (67% confidence  +/-1 from mean, 95% confidence +/-2, 99% confidence +/-3)
  • Add 2014 #1 to genetics unit exam, good question to add - How meiosis generate diversity
  • Remember to make copies of scoring guidelines for students to correct their own papers.
  • Use standard error bar for labs (examples: pill bug, fast plants, onion root tip - data only email Mary for data)
  • In AP biology Quantitative Skills Guide - do the practice activity.
  • Go to HHMI Eukaryotic Cell:  Cell Cycle + Worksheet + Activity - use it
  • Couple of good chi square activities (Mendelian Genetic, Probability, Pedigrees, and Chi-Square Statistics/ Mapping Genes to Traits in Dogs Using SNIPs.
  • Cheap and Easy Operon - great way to teach operon
  • Have TA type up modeling meiosis and fertilization
  • Update website
AP workshops are really worth the time.  Actually not enough time.  Mary was teaching after the session was over.  I love the chenille cladogram.  I cannot wait to share with my students when I return.  I might start with meiosis poker activity.  The session was definitely worthwhile.  I wish they had these sessions couple of times a year.
