Just finished the training. Hooray! Started some time ago but just could not find the time to finish the training. Main content was a review but there were many important facts that I was not fully aware of and many ideas that will really help me keep me and my students safe.
One of the actions I took to follow this activity up is applying for Monsanto Grant to replace all the safety goggles and glasses in addition to purchasing spill center in case of spill emergency. I am approved for $1000 and will purchase these items this summer break. I am glad to have taken the training. I will continue to do safety training. I am planning to take GHS training online.
GHS is the new standard for chemicals. OSHA revised the Hazard Communication Standard to align it with the UN Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for classification and ID of chemical hazards.This means we will switch from MSDS label to GHS label & SDS (Safety Data Sheet).
